Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. is founded on the principles of service, scholarship, loyalty, sisterhood and culture. Our purpose is to promote leadership and encourage women to succeed in life through higher education. It is our goal to help shape ourselves into the leaders of today and tomorrow and establish our place among society as strong and independent Latina women. We are dedicated to giving back to our local and campus community. Our national philanthropy is The Boys and Girls Club of America.
Giving back to the Boys and Girls Club
We volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in the Richardson Metroplex. Here we are able to help the kids develop by mentoring them with school projects as well as personal needs.
Trunk-or-Treat
Each year, UTD holds a Trunk-o-Treat fest out by the Residential Hall Parking lot to give kids an opportunity to get candy around Halloween. We always have fun participating at this event!
Comet Volunteer
We do whatever we can do possible to help out our University as well as volunteer at events such as Viva Volunteer.
